Our church family is comprised of both young people and seniors with a mixture of backgrounds. Dress tends to be business-casual, but there is always a mixture of ties and blue jeans. We have one morning worship service with an evening service every Sunday. A variety of classes are offered for children and adults prior to the morning service and we also provide nursery care for infants through toddlers in all of our morning and evening services.
Sunday Morning
Sunday School and Bible Study
Our graded Sunday school provides good Bible focused teaching for our children from nursery age through high school. These classes are designed to be age appropriate in order to set a good foundation for personal, practical and relevant Bible knowledge that will lead to spiritual life and growth. Our adult sessions vary from exegetical to topical life studies that focus on God’s Word. Check the Learn link to check on the current studies.
At the conclusion of our time, we encourage individuals to enjoy conversation and a cup of coffee in our open foyer. This provides a great opportunity for fellowship and time for prayer with one another.
Worship Service
Services are 1 hour and 15 minutes in length with 30 minutes of praise and prayer and 45 minutes of preaching. The time of worship includes singing, reading of the Scripture, prayer, and giving of our financial resources. Our music is a blend of old and new and we use a variety of instruments to aid us in our praise of God. We aim to sing songs that turn us toward the Lord, are full of theological truth, and exalt Jesus Christ.
We have a practice of teaching through a book of the Bible from beginning to end by examining the original meaning of the text and how it applies in our lives today.
You will find various types of literature at our Reception Table that will provide more information about us and about the Lord.
Sunday Evening
Our Sunday evening services tend to be more casual than our Sunday morning times together. They provide an opportunity to worship with music and a message that is different from the morning service. It is also during these church family times that we share in communion and the baptism of professing Christians. It is a wonderful way to end our day of praise in the company of God’s people.
Wednesday Evening
During the school year our prayer fellowship moves to homes. These gatherings are very casual and less structured. There is always a time in the Word and sometimes include music. The primary focus however is the prayer of God’s people. We offer praise and thanksgiving; pray for the ministries and people of Calvary, our missionary families, our government, and our neighbors.
