Thanksgiving Service and Fellowship Dinner

Calvary’s Annual Thanksgiving Service and Fellowship Dinner always serve as a good reminder of all we have in Christ, both for eternity and in this material world. Join us as we observe the Lord’s Table, hear from you, hear from God’s Word, and then share our thanksgiving over dinner.

Please bring enough food for your family and to share with others. The church will provide the meat (spiral ham) and drinks.

AWANA Clubs

In the fall, the popular AWANA Clubs are offered on Wednesday evenings. AWANA is an acrostic taken from the Bible verse: Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15), and stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed. AWANA is made up of four age-oriented clubs: Cubbies, ages 4-5, Sparkies, grades K-2nd, T&T, grades 3-5, and Trek, grades 6-8. The children who attend also work through study books at home. The books have an enjoyable format and teach children how to know and follow Jesus. There is also a strong focus on Bible verse memorization.

In AWANA Clubs, each child works at his or her own pace toward specific goals. Achievement of each goal earns the child a patch or pin to display on their AWANA vest. The children love this exciting atmosphere, and parents love seeing their kids learn the Bible and grow in their faith!

Come hear the testimony of God’s providential grace in the life of two young people, from two different continents, two different cultures, and two different languages who meet in the eastern African country of Mozambique. It is a stark reminder that God’s program focuses on people for His purpose, His glory, and our good.

Valentine Dinner

Come enjoy a great time of fellowship as Calvary joins with the Southern Hills Evangelical Free Church for our first annual Valentine Dinner. The cost is $10.00 and all ages beyond high school are invited to a tasty Italian buffet with all the trimmings accompanied by some fun entertainment, ministry in music, and a time in the Word with Jared Berg of Oshoto, Wyoming. The dinner will be held at Calvary at 6:00, Sunday evening, February 13, and having a sweetheart is not required.

There is an amended schedule for our Sunday services, Sunday school and classes over the next few weeks. Please make note of the following changes:

Wednesday, December 15

All of our regularly scheduled activities will be conducted and usual: AWANA and CREW at 6:30 and Prayer Fellowship at 7:00.

Sunday, December 19

We will have our morning service at 10:00. There will be no Sunday school, morning classes or evening service.

Wednesday, December 22

There will be NO regularly scheduled activities. Join us instead on December 24, at 6:00 for our Christmas eve service.

Sunday, December 26

We will have our morning service at 10:00. There will be no Sunday school, morning classes or evening service.

Wednesday, December 29

There will be NO regularly scheduled activities.

Sunday, January 2

We will have our morning service at 10:00. There will be no Sunday school, morning classes or evening service.

Ladies Heading to Beth Moore

The ladies of Calvary are heading to Rapid City this weekend for the Beth Moore “Living Proof” Bible conference. Pray for Beth as she explores and teaches how the Bible applies to real life, and shares her own experiences as abeliever. Pray that Christ will be magnified and that our ladies might be strengthened your their relationship with the Lord and in turn with each other.

Annual Thanksgiving Fellowship Dinner

Join us this Sunday, November 21, for our Annual Thanksgiving Fellowship Dinner. We’ll eat immediately following the morning service and share our thanks to the Lord for all that He has done and continues to do in our lives. Please bring enough food to feed your family and then some. A good rule of thumb is to bring enough for your family and another of like size. The church will provide the ham. There will NOT be a 6:00 service on Sunday evening.

Sunday Sing-A-Long

Join us Sunday evening at 6:00 for a night of music and testimony. We’re having a sing-a-long to lift our voices and hearts to the Lord accompanied by testimonies of His grace in our lives. If you’d like to sing (or play an instrument) as a special please let Graham know this morning. Finally, if you have a request for someone to sing or play a special please put it on a communication connection and drop it in the offering plate (This is for suggestion only. There is no guarantee the request will be fulfilled).

O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory. The LORD hath made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the heathen. He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
